A classic summer tradition in Sapporo, the "Doshin & UHB Fireworks Festival" is being held for the first time in three years. The event takes place along the Toyohira River, which flows through the city, and watching the fireworks from the riverbed is a truly spectacular experience. We also recommend enjoying them along with the night view from Mt. Moiwa.
This is Hokkaido's largest fireworks festival, typically attracting around 200,000 visitors each year. The show unfolds on a grand scale, with fireworks synchronized to music and laser lights. This year, there will be no free general admission seating; only ticket holders will be allowed to enter and view the display.
Held from late April to the end of October, this is Japan's "longest-running" fireworks festival, with displays held every night except during severe weather. It's very popular with guests staying at the Lake Toya Onsen hot spring resorts.
