Located in Kita-ku, Sapporo, the dahlias are at their best from September to mid-October, when they are at their best. The dahlias are colorful, with cute flower shapes and many different varieties, and you will surely fall in love with them!

The dahlia garden in Yurigahara Park is one of the plants they are putting a lot of effort into. In this fiscal year (FY2022), 115 varieties of dahlias are being planted on the 430 m2 site. For example, the early dahlias, such as the Suckle Ruby Ring in the photo below, begin blooming in mid-August.

Dahlias, which dislike heat and have more vivid colors when the temperature difference between day and night is greater, are well suited to Hokkaido's climate.

In addition to their bright, cheerful colors, dahlias have a gorgeous appearance that differs from roses and lilies. Many dahlias are round in shape and have a cute appearance that will make you want to take many pictures of them.

In addition, the park has planted taller varieties in the flowerbeds along the park so that visitors can enjoy them from the windows of the Lily Train, which runs through the park. This kind of attention to detail shows the staff's spirit of wanting visitors to enjoy the flowers as much as possible!

Dahlias can also be enjoyed in the "World Garden," a fee-based area. There are 57 varieties of dahlias planted, mainly tall and dynamic varieties.
