Hokkaido has a variety of flowers that will make you want to take pictures of them. The flower we will introduce this time is the dahlia at Yurigahara Park. Yurigahara Park, located in Kita-ku, Sapporo, is home to many different flowers that bloom depending on the season, but the best time to see dahlias is from September to mid-October. The flowers are cute, come in all sorts of varieties, and are colorful, so you're sure to fall in love with them!

The Dahlia Garden at Yurigahara Park is one of the plants they are focusing on. This year (2022), 115 varieties have been planted on the approximately 430 m2 site. For example, the Suckle Ruby Ring in the photo below is an early variety that begins to bloom in mid-August.

Dahlias dislike heat and the greater the difference in temperature between day and night, the more vivid their flower color becomes, making them a flower well suited to Hokkaido's climate and environment.

Dahlias not only have bright colors that instantly brighten your mood, but also have a gorgeous feel that is different from roses and lilies. Many of them have a warm, round shape and are cute, so you'll want to take lots of photos.

In addition, tall varieties are planted in the flower beds along the line so that you can enjoy the flowers from the windows of the Lily Train that runs through the park. You can feel the staff's sincerity in wanting you to enjoy the flowers even more from such small considerations!

You can also enjoy dahlias in the paid area "Garden of the World." There are 57 varieties planted, mainly tall and dynamic varieties.

Dahlias, with their many different colors and shapes, will brighten up the coming autumn. Be sure to keep an eye out for dahlias as you enjoy the autumn scenery at Yurigahara Park.
