Colorful Flowerbeds Perfect for Your Social Media! See the Lovely Dahlias at Yurigahara Park
Hokkaido is home to a wide variety of flowers that are just begging to be photographed. Today, we're introducing the dahlias of Yurigahara Park. Located in Sapporo's Kita Ward, Yurigahara Park showcases different flowers throughout the seasons, but the best time to see the dahlias is from September to mid-October. With their charming shapes, diverse varieties, and vibrant colors, you're sure to be captivated!

The Dahlia Garden at Yurigahara Park is one of the park's main features. This fiscal year (2022), 115 varieties have been planted across the approximately 430㎡ plot. Some, like the 'Sakkuru Ruby Ring' in the photo below, begin to bloom as early as mid-August.

Dahlias dislike heat and their colors become more vivid with a large temperature difference between day and night, making them well-suited to Hokkaido's climate.

Dahlias have a unique gorgeousness, different from roses or lilies, and their bright colors are sure to lift your spirits. Many have a full, rounded shape, adding a touch of cuteness that will make you want to snap countless photos.

Furthermore, taller varieties have been planted along the flowerbeds next to the Lily Train tracks so that visitors can enjoy them from the train window. This thoughtful detail shows the staff's dedication to helping visitors enjoy the flowers to the fullest!

You can also enjoy dahlias in the paid 'World Gardens' area. Here, 57 varieties are planted, focusing on tall and dynamically large types.

With their diverse colors and shapes, dahlias bring a bright and splendid touch to the coming autumn. Be sure to check them out and enjoy the autumn scenery at Yurigahara Park.
