Butterbur sprouts bringing spring (Rangetsu Town)
In mid-March, as the weather warmed up, I went out to look for spring.
I found a butterbur sprout just about to open beside a field in Rangetsu, where the snow had thawed.
It is exciting to see the fields and mountains in spring.

One of the wild vegetables that brings spring to Hokkaido, both visually and in terms of taste!
When the snow begins to melt and the weather gets warmer, you can often see them in gardens and along roadsides 👀.
When you find them in the lingering snow, you know that spring is just around the corner 🌸.
A fox walking on the snow (Biei Town)
This is a fox we met in the hills of Biei in late winter.
We saw foxes here and there as spring approached and they became more active.
Perhaps because it was dusk, I felt a sense of melancholy on their backs.
