"Boarding ticket" prepared for Mizore the seal who moved from the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan. "ANA is wonderful" and "This is what they call heartwarming" in response to this cool attempt
What is Mizore doing now after arriving safely at Otaru Aquarium?
What kind of life is Mizore living now after she arrived safely at Otaru Aquarium in November 2023? We spoke to Yusuke Sasaki of the Marine Mammal Breeding Division, who is in charge of raising the ringed seals at Otaru Aquarium.
From my perspective, Mizore was raised artificially, so she has a close relationship with humans. I think he's friendly. I also put toys in the pool on certain days. When most animals are given a toy they have never seen before, they may be wary and take a while to play with it, but with Mizore, if she likes it, she immediately wants to play with it, and I feel she is very curious.
As for how he spends his daytime hours, he is currently being fed twice a day. He is usually found swimming in the pool, and will sometimes approach if he sees something that catches his eye, such as something worn by a customer. Some customers say they came to see Mizore, and many of them enjoy watching them in front of the Mizore pool.
Mizore is very curious and will approach anything that catches her eye. Her friendly personality and closeness to people may be what still captivates her fans. And it seems that she continues to be showered with love.
It is no exaggeration to say that this boarding ticket is the embodiment of our love for Mizore. Mizore currently lives in the Marine Mammal Park of the Otaru Aquarium. In a separate area of the ocean itself, he lives freely in his natural environment.
Now that it's an adult, it no longer has its fluffy white fur, but its cuteness remains unchanged. Be sure to visit Otaru Aquarium.

*Editor's update: June 20, 2024
Unfortunately, it was announced on June 19, 2024 that Mizore, the aquarium resident featured in this article, had passed away. As I was writing this article, I was just beginning to realize how much Mizore was loved by so many people, and this came as a huge shock to me. I pray for the repose of Mizore's soul.
The ringed seal Mizore has died. Going forward, we will work hard to identify the exact cause of death and strive to further improve our breeding techniques, including improving the breeding management techniques for ringed seals. https://t.co/Q8ylJBxJ2j
