"We want our customers to be as healthy as possible" "Rapou Cafe" is a "beauty cafe" in the center of Obihiro that will make your body happy
"Rapo Cafe" is located in a residential area of Obihiro, Hokkaido, and is very popular with women due to its cute exterior. The relaxing interior and delicious cafe menu are the result of the owner Yuka's expertise from working in a cafe for about eight years, and her dedication to health and beauty.
Eat and be healthy. Plenty of carefully selected ingredients, mainly from Hokkaido
"If I cook for myself, I can try to cook healthy food, but when eating out, I can't choose the ingredients or nutritional balance. That's why I provide dishes and desserts with the hope that my customers will be as healthy as possible," says owner Yuka. They serve wonderful ingredients selected mainly from Hokkaido, such as Yumepirika rice from Hokkaido, flour from Yamamoto Tadanobu Shoten in Tokachi, olive oil, sugar from Hokkaido beet sugar, and fertilized eggs from Tokachi Kusanagi Farm.
Fresh pasta and one-plate sets. A rich lunch menu
Rapo Cafe also has a wide variety of lunch menu items. The "One Plate Set" (980 yen) comes with a waffle or bean rice ball made with whole wheat flour, natural yeast, and fertilized eggs, along with soy milk soup and salad. Other regular menu items include the "Steamed Seasonal Vegetable Set" (1,100 yen), the "Tomato Sauce" (980 yen) which is homemade pasta made with great care and attention, served with mozzarella cheese, eggplant, and spinach, and the "Soy Milk Cream" (980 yen) with shimeji mushrooms and spinach. You can also enjoy a different pasta every month.
The pasta used in the restaurant is handmade every day, which is surprising. They use ingredients that will give you energy no matter what you eat. They also have a menu item called "Gnocchi with Soy Milk" made with rice flour for gluten-free people.
The most popular item is the chewy yet light "waffle"
The waffles are made with beet sugar and natural yeast. They also use butter instead of margarine, which is great for health-conscious people! The sweet aroma of the ingredients wafts through the air even before you bite into them. The texture is somewhere between crispy and fluffy, and closer to moist than chewy, with just the right amount of sweetness to warm your heart. The "Natural Yeast Snack Waffle" (820 yen) is topped with fruit, fresh cream, and chocolate sauce, making it the perfect cafe menu for a snack.
The lightly sweet "Caramel Milk Tea" (480 yen) goes well with the waffles. You can also take out the waffles for 250 yen each. There is a park nearby called "Green Park" that is perfect for a walk, so we recommend enjoying the outdoors while eating your waffles.
The facility will be renovated, expanded and reopened in the fall of 2024.
The cafe is also scheduled to be renovated in the fall of 2024. The location and concept of the cafe will remain the same, but the number of seats will be increased and the kitchen will be strengthened to make it an even more wonderful space. Until now, all the seats were filled by reservations alone, and customers who came on the day would sometimes leave, so the cafe decided to increase the number of seats, saying, "If people take the time to come, we want them to spend time in the cafe."
Currently, they do not offer takeout other than waffles, but they plan to gradually increase the variety of takeout options. If you come to Obihiro, be sure to visit "rapo cafe," where the food, atmosphere, and ingredients are all very satisfying.
