The famous "Snow Royal" (880 yen) at Yukijirushi Parlor's Sapporo Main Store

In the 1960s, when Yukijirushi Parlor was founded, sweets like parfaits and ice cream, as well as Western-style food, were still a rarity. In 1966, Yukijirushi Parlor, a pioneer in offering delicious dairy products, received a request from the Imperial Household Agency: "We would like you to create the finest ice cream for Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress, who will be visiting for the Hokkaido Centennial Ceremony in August 1968." After two years of trial and error, "Snow Royal" was born.

"Snow Royal" was perfected in pursuit of the original flavor of milk, and to this day, it is made with the same recipe and method as when it was first created. It can now be enjoyed on its own exclusively at the Sapporo Main Store, and it is also used in some of their parfaits. Additionally, cup-style versions are sold at all Yukijirushi Parlor locations, making it perfect for takeout. This exquisite ice cream, truly worthy of its "Royal" name, is a delicacy you won't want to miss.

The Sapporo Main Store is not only a place to savor "Snow Royal" but also boasts an incredible variety of parfaits. The regular menu alone features about 25 types, and when you include the seasonal limited-edition parfaits, the total comes to around 30! The parfaits using "Snow Royal" come with toppings and arrangements perfectly suited to each ingredient, such as red-fleshed melon, strawberry, blueberry, raw chocolate, caramel, and green tea. You can enjoy the juiciness and sweetness of each ingredient along with the flavor of the finest vanilla ice cream.

From this extensive parfait menu, our editorial team has carefully selected two recommendations for you!

Recommended Parfait #1: "Snow Royal Red-Fleshed Melon Parfait"

"Snow Royal Red-Fleshed Melon Parfait" (1,430 yen)

Our first recommendation is the "Snow Royal Red-Fleshed Melon Parfait." In a tall parfait glass, "Snow Royal" is sandwiched between melon ice cream, with slices of red-fleshed melon arranged along the rim. The fresh melon bursts with juicy flavor, while the melon ice cream spreads a rich melon taste across your tongue, leaving a refreshing aroma. This is seriously delicious!

Recommended Parfait #2: "Snow Royal Chocolate Mint Parfait"

Yukijirushi Parlor

"Snow Royal Chocolate Mint Parfait" (1,430 yen)

Our second pick is the "Snow Royal Chocolate Mint Parfait." Here, "Snow Royal" is layered with chocolate mint ice cream and topped with mint chocolate. The refreshing flavor allows you to enjoy the rich ice cream and chocolate with a clean, crisp finish. While mint might bring summer to mind, the smooth texture of the chocolate melting in your mouth can bring a cozy feeling even on a cold winter day.

Pancakes and light meals too! A perfect spot to drop by during your sightseeing
