Snow Miku appears at the Sapporo Snow Festival Museum, Hitsujigaoka Observation Hill, a popular tourist attraction in Sapporo! Open to the public from Saturday, December 21, 2024
Life-size standing Snow Miku statue appears at the museum where the history of the Sapporo Snow Festival is still alive!
Hitsujigaoka Observation Hill is a popular spot for viewing the magnificent panorama of Sapporo with the statue of Clark. The "Sapporo Snow Festival Museum," located on the site, is a facility that introduces the history of the Sapporo Snow Festival and the process of snow sculpture production. This time, a life-size standing statue of "Snow Miku" will be newly exhibited at the museum.
This statue was previously displayed at the "Snow Miku Sky Town" store and museum at New Chitose Airport. It was relocated (donated) to the Hitsujigaoka Observation Deck in conjunction with the renovation of the facility. The relocation was made possible by the deep connection between Snow Miku and the Sapporo Snow Festival, as Snow Miku is a character that was created as a result of the snow sculpture at the 2010 Sapporo Snow Festival.
You can also enjoy the voice of Snow Miku introducing the museum.
While the life-size standing statues themselves are an attraction, another point of interest is the voice of Snow Miku that introduces the museum in the exhibition area of the life-size statues! In addition, in the "Memorial Area" at the back of the museum, there is a Snow Miku exhibition corner, where you can see the Snow Miku snow sculptures that have been created every year since 2010, through displays and videos.
Stop by when you visit Hitsujigaoka Observation Hill!
Taking a photo with the statue of Clark and eating Genghis Khan are the standard at Hitsujigaoka Observation Hill, but from now on, meeting Snow Miku at the "Sapporo Snow Festival Museum" is also recommended! As a new sightseeing experience unique to Sapporo, Hokkaido, why not add this to your travel memories?
