Enjoy wine and music under the sweet scent of lilacs at the Sapporo Lilac Festival
The Lilac Festival, which heralds the arrival of early summer in Sapporo, kicks off this weekend. Amidst the purple, pink, and white lilacs that color the venue, you can enjoy various events at each site, such as the "Lilac Wine Garden 2025," where you can savor Hokkaido-made wine, and the "Lilas Terrace 2025," where you can enjoy sweets and light meals surrounded by greenery.

Kawashimo Park in Shiroishi-ku is another venue. It's a great place for a relaxing family visit, with guided tours of the Lilac Forest, a quiz rally, and concerts on stage.

Packed with fun outdoor activities: the Takino Outdoor Picnic 2025
This event is packed with outdoor fun, including exhibitions and sales of the latest outdoor gear and camping cars, as well as plenty of 'soto-asobi' (outdoor play) activities to get you moving in nature! Explore the venue and have a blast with climbing walls, slacklines, and bouncy castles.
In the picnic gourmet area, a variety of unique food trucks from all over Hokkaido will gather! Spread out a blanket on the lawn and enjoy a spring picnic. Additionally, the East Gate rest area will feature the popular "Working Vehicles Exhibition" for kids. Families can enjoy getting a close-up look at disaster relief vehicles and garbage trucks, and even experience what it's like to do the job.

A market event created by students and the community: Community Marche Yao Cafe
This community market is a collaboration between students and the local community, held in front of the Geijutsu-no-Mori Campus of Sapporo City University in Minami-ku, Sapporo. It's filled with various projects, including the "Forest Morning Market" where farmers and local shops gather, sales of goods designed by students, and "Biba," a playground for all ages, from children to adults.
You can enjoy unique local interactions and experiences while buying delicious local products and playing to your heart's content.
