The 73rd Tanuki Festival, held in Sapporo's Tanukikoji Shopping Street, kicks off again this year on Thursday, July 23rd. The main highlight is the annual Night Bargain on Saturday, July 25th! The Tanuki Festival, held every summer in the Tanukikoji Shopping Street, is a historic event celebrating its 73rd anniversary this year. The arcade is adorned with lanterns and decorations, enveloping the entire shopping street in a festive mood. The main events are the "Night Bargain" (July 25th from 17:00), held in each block, and the "Tanuki Hattoku Grand Festival" (August 1st), featuring a parade of portable shrines. The "Night Bargain," held from 17:00 on Saturday, July 25th, features unique events in each area from Tanukikoji 1-chome to 7-chome, including festival stalls, live music, special prize drawings, ¥200 beer, and ¥50 cola. In addition, there will be food stalls from various restaurants in Tanukikoji and a once-a-year bargain sale! A wide variety of activities are planned for everyone from children to adults to enjoy.

The famous Tanukikoji 1-chome food stalls are back. Enjoy a delicious array of food and drinks like beer, sake, yakisoba, frankfurters, and edamame! There will also be street performances by musicians.

Tanukikoji 2-chome: Park Golf Tournament! (From 17:00)

A park golf event that everyone, from adults to children, can enjoy! For ¥100 per try (2 balls), you can win fabulous prizes if you successfully sink the ball into the target cup.

Tanukikoji 3-chome: The Annual Can-Stacking Contest! (From 17:00)

Participation is ¥200 per try. The person with the highest score in can-stacking will receive a grand prize.
