Active, Eating, and Then... Naptime! Meet Yuki-chan from Maruyama Zoo
This is the usually energetic Ezo tanuki, Yuki-chan. Here's a full-body view.
This Ezo tanuki is Yuki-chan from Maruyama Zoo. According to Shio-san, who took the photo, just before this scene, a zookeeper was giving a talk about the Ezo tanuki, and Yuki-chan was actively moving around, searching for and eating food. This was her nap right after, so she must have been sleeping very comfortably...
Yuki-chan's incredibly cute sleeping face.
The burlap sack might just be the perfect bed for a nap. Just as humans want to dive into a fluffy bed, maybe tanukis also find it comforting to cling to a cozy burlap sack to sleep? I hope she's sleeping soundly and having sweet dreams. (From Shio-san)
Tucking in her outstretched legs and continuing to sleep soundly.
She usually lives with her partner, Riku-kun.
Yuki-chan the Ezo tanuki lives in the Kangaroo House at Maruyama Zoo. Why not stop by and take a look on your next outing? You might be able to witness her energetic side or see her sleeping soundly.
