When I came to Tokyo and bought some chawanmushi, it wasn't sweet and didn't have any chestnuts, so I wondered if they'd forgotten to add the chestnuts, but it turns out chestnut chawanmushi is only available in Hokkaido (and parts of Tohoku) 😳 Chestnut chawanmushi is delicious😍 pic.twitter.com/OqcQqVTLc9

Since I moved to Tokyo, I occasionally had a craving for red rice, and when I went to the supermarket or convenience store, I could only find the kind with red beans. I thought maybe it was popular and sold out, so I asked a Hokkaido native living in Tokyo, and they told me they don't have it in Tokyo, which was crazy! It varies by region 😳 pic.twitter.com/ACWZFYqDYM
