In recent years, even in Sapporo city, we have been experiencing extremely hot summers. As a way to beat the heat, why not go see a waterfall? In fact, there are many waterfalls that can be seen in and around Sapporo.
This time we will be introducing "Peace Waterfall" located in Nishi Ward.
Why not refresh yourself by soaking up plenty of negative ions while surrounded by nature?
The best thing about Heiwa Falls is that it's easy to get to. It's located near the trailhead of Mount Teine in Nishi Ward, and there's a parking lot. There are also stairs leading down to the waterfall right next to the parking lot. Once you go down the stairs, you'll see the Heiwa Falls right in front of you.
The 10-meter waterfall flows down in three tiers. It is refreshing to see, and in the summer you can enjoy the feeling of escaping the heat surrounded by plenty of greenery. In the fall, the leaves change color beautifully, making it a great date spot to visit while driving.
However, in winter, the area is covered in snow, making it difficult to see where the river ends and the ground is, which can be dangerous. You won't be able to see any spectacular frozen waterfalls, and the parking lot is closed during the winter, but it might be worth a visit for those who want to see beautiful snow scenery.
Rather than being a very powerful waterfall, Heiwa Falls has a familiar charm. It is close to downtown Sapporo, so many Sapporo locals have probably visited it on school trips. If you ever feel a bit tired, why not remember Heiwa Falls? A visit here will surely soothe you.
