1 Enjoy Gourmet Food, Live Music, and More with the Lilacs at the "Sapporo Lilac Festival" in Odori Park and Kawashimo Park

The "Sapporo Lilac Festival," a classic early summer event in Sapporo, kicks off on May 20th. Around 400 lilac trees will be in full bloom in Odori Park, filling the city of Sapporo with a refreshing fragrance. With a music festival, food and drink stalls, a stamp rally, and more, it has become a beloved annual event for this time of year.

At the Odori Park 5-chome venue, you can enjoy cultural experiences like tea ceremonies, traditional games, and an antique market. At 6-chome, you'll find cafes, sweets, and live music, along with a lilac-colored street piano. The 7-chome venue will host a wine festival featuring over 200 types of Hokkaido-produced wines. Furthermore, at Kawashimo Park, you can enjoy walks and concerts in the "Lilac Forest," where over 200 varieties of lilacs bloom.

The popular "Strawberry Festival," which has drawn crowds in Yokohama and Osaka, is making its Hokkaido debut at Akarenga Garden. The venue will be filled with a wide array of strawberry-themed items, including sweets, drinks, and gourmet food made with lavish amounts of strawberries, as well as strawberry-motif merchandise. It's a must-see event where you can enjoy the vibrant early summer atmosphere and seasonal strawberries with the Former Hokkaido Government Office Building (Akarenga) as a backdrop.

This is a hands-on event where you can have fun learning about the "present" and "future" of Toyota's mobility. There will be numerous attractions to experience the charm of cars, such as the "Gran Turismo 7 e-Motorsports Experience" using a professional driving simulator and a "Pit Crew Experience" where you can try a real tire change. There are also plenty of activities for children, including a corner where they can take photos wearing racing suits or engineer outfits, a section to create a driver's license-like card with their photo, and workshops for making miniature cars and car coloring, making it a fun event for the whole family.
