The Kushiro Club we recommend this time is just the thing. With a relaxing atmosphere, delicious food, and the beautiful view of Kushiro, there's really nothing else to say. Let's take a look inside. The name Kushiro Club may conjure up images of a classy atmosphere, but it is a relatively new establishment, having opened in May 2017. You'll be surprised to learn that you have to take your shoes off at the entrance on the first floor. After taking your shoes off, you head up the stairs to the second floor. Once you step inside the establishment, you'll be greeted by a unique atmosphere that will make you feel like you've wandered into another world, and your face will surely break into a smile.

Under the ceiling, which is lined with thick beams, there are various types of seats, including a wooden floor area and a wood stove area. Where you sit will likely be decided based on how you want to spend your time, such as "I'd like to relax and read a book with a cup of coffee" or "I'd like to gaze out at the view without thinking about anything." However, for first-time visitors, we recommend a seat overlooking the Kushiro River from the large window.

From the window you can see the leisurely flowing Kushiro River, Heimai Bridge, and across the river is Kushiro Fisherman's Wharf MOO. The tourist spots of Kushiro spread out before your eyes like a painting. This alone is enough to guarantee you a blissful moment. But that's not all. The food at Kushiro Club is also top-notch.

Lunch is good, but you'll want to enjoy dinner as the scenery changes as the evening approaches. The chef's choice course, which you can choose from several options, is popular (the photo above is part of the "Fish Main Course" for 4,950 yen including tax). The menu mainly uses local ingredients from Kushiro and Nemuro, and sometimes also ingredients from Kumamoto, where the owner's wife is from.

After enjoying the view and the food, I looked around the restaurant and noticed that the decoration and ornaments were unique and exotic. This place was originally the Soviet-Japanese Friendship Hall. The owner, who is from Kushiro City, transformed it into this wonderful restaurant and cafe. Once you've settled in, it's so comfortable that it's hard to leave. Spending time relaxing in a place like this may be one of life's luxuries.
