This is a springtime photo of a group of snipes lining up to cross a line drawn by rice paddies!
The white-winged stilt has very long pink legs, which are partially submerged in the water in the rice paddies.
They are found throughout Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa, in rice paddies, ponds, swamps, and shallow puddles 🦢.
Ogibushi Station and Orion's Bird (Urakawa Town)
I added my favorite constellation, Orion, before it was abolished to preserve for the future the image of what it used to be when many people used it in the past.

This is a fantastic collaboration of the station name sign of Ogibushi Station and the shining Orion constellation!
Ogibushi Station, which opened in 1935, was closed on April 1, 2021, when the Hidaka Line between Mukawa Station and Samani Station was discontinued.
This is a really nice picture of an active station that will be preserved for the future! 🚞.
Barley roll (Biei Town)
Wheat straw left after harvesting wheat by combine harvesters in the hills of Biei is collected by a machine called a roll baler to complete the wheat culm rolls. It is said to weigh nearly 300 kg.

This photograph captures the typical Hokkaido scenery of wheat-colored earth and rolled wheat stalks in a neat row!
Wheat culm rolls appear from summer to autumn, when wheat harvesting is over, and are made of straw after the ears of wheat have been harvested. These are purchased by dairy farmers and used as bedding for their cows.
The cows must be happy to see the season's arrival with these soft, fluffy bedding that smells of wheat grown in the sun 🐄.
