PORTO, Kamikawa Town's New Community Hub in Hokkaido, Grand Opening on October 9th!

PORTO is a multi-functional facility featuring a "Community Space" for reading, meetings, and various events; a "General Consultation Desk for Relocation, Tourism, and Living" where you can consult with a concierge about moving and living in the area; a "Coworking Space" equipped with WiFi and power outlets; and a "Gallery" for exhibitions and more.

The name "PORTO" is derived from the idea of it being a "Port" for Kamikawa Town, a gateway that gathers local people, products, projects, and information, connecting the inside and outside of the community. It is expected to become a hub where a better local community can be nurtured through people from diverse backgrounds gathering, interacting, connecting, spending time together, and creating together.
We spoke with Ezomaru Kinuwari, the representative of Earth Friends Camp Inc., the company operating PORTO, about his thoughts on creating this facility.
PORTO began when a town hall official showed me a document with that message.
Since it also functions as a consultation desk for relocation and tourism, it's for visitors from outside the town, of course, but I also want it to be a place where town residents think, "If anything comes up, let's go to PORTO first."
I hope many people will use it as a base for creating a rich and interesting life together.
A "port" in Kamikawa Town, open to everyone—we're very excited to see what the future holds!
