PORTO, a new exchange space in Kamikawa-cho, Hokkaido, had its grand opening on October 9!
PORTO is an exchange facility equipped with an "exchange space" for reading, meetings, and various events, a "general consultation desk for immigration, tourism, and living" where you can consult with a concierge about immigration and living, a "co-working space" equipped with WiFi and power supply, and a "gallery" where you can hold exhibitions. It is an exchange facility.
"PORTO," named after the "Port of Kamikawa Town" where people, goods, things, and information of the region gather and functions as a gateway connecting the inside and outside of the region, is expected to be a center where people with diverse backgrounds can gather, mingle, connect, spend time together, and create together to foster a better regional community. PORTO is expected to be a center where people from diverse backgrounds can gather, mix, connect, spend time together, and create together to foster a better local community.
We asked Mr. Kinubari Ezimaru, the representative of Earth Friends Camp, Inc. which operates PORTO, about his thoughts on the creation of this facility.
PORTO began when a person in charge at the town office showed us a document containing such a message.
We would like to make PORTO a place where not only visitors from outside of the town but also residents of the town can go for advice on immigration and tourism.
We hope that many people will use PORTO as a base for creating a rich and interesting lifestyle together.
We are very much looking forward to the future development of the "port" in Kamikawa, which is open to all!
