Yuni Garden Unveils New 'Kochia Hill'! Plus, a Trendy Maritozzo in Kochia Colors!
The newly opened area is 'Kochia Hill,' featuring 32,000 Kochia plants, also known as 'broom grass.' Yuni Garden delights visitors with a variety of colorful flowers that bloom throughout the seasons, and this new area has already gained a reputation for being adorable.
This photo was taken on September 13, 2021. The crowd of fluffy green mounds creates a truly charming scene. In just a few days from this point, they will turn a vibrant red as they reach their peak viewing season.

You can see how deep the color has become. By October 5, 2021, the color had changed to a more withered hue. This pale, mottled pattern is also quite lovely, isn't it?
At Cafeteria 'Basil' on the first floor of the Center House in Yuni Garden, a new Maritozzo inspired by the adorable Kochia is now available. It's made with rare cheese from Warakudo and is aptly named the 'Red and Green Kochia Maritozzo.'
Also, don't miss Yuni Garden's original soft-serve ice cream made with Hokkaido blueberries—it's a huge hit! If you've worked up an appetite from walking and want something more substantial, head to Restaurant 'Chive' on the second floor of the same Center House.
You can enjoy a healthy lunch buffet featuring fresh spring vegetables from the garden, Yuni Town, and neighboring areas. The colorful dishes, clearly packed with vegetables, are sure to whet your appetite.
Besides the 'Kochia Hill' introduced here, there are plenty of other photogenic spots, like the Rose Garden with its various roses and rugosa roses, and a small path where 400 hydrangeas greet you. Take a long walk and find your favorite flowers.

However, it goes without saying that different flowers have different blooming seasons. Yuni Garden is large with many areas, so it's a good idea to check the official website or Facebook page for the best viewing times before you go. The nearby 'Yunni no Yu' hot spring is also very popular, and many people enjoy visiting both the garden and the onsen as a set.
