Let's see, learn, and observe Kushiro Marsh, the largest marshland in Japan!
On the second day, let's start by observing the mysterious nature of "Kushiro Marsh," a Ramsar Convention-listed wetland that straddles Tsurui Village, Shibecha Town, Kushiro City, and Kushiro Town!
First, let's visit the Onneuchi Visitor Center. This is an information station where you can learn about the wetlands as they change from season to season, so let's gather information on plants and animals that interest you.
After gathering information, leave the building and you will soon come to a wooden path!
Starting from the Visitor Center, there are a variety of footpaths to enjoy observing Kushiro Marsh, including a barrier-free course that takes about 2 km to complete a round trip and a 3.1 km course, so choose the route that best suits your physical condition and mood.
The course we chose this time is a walk along a barrier-free wooden path. There are points where you can learn how deep the marshland is and signs describing seasonal plants are placed here and there, so you can enjoy the marshland while learning about it.
It might be fun to install an app on your smartphone or tablet that tells you the names of the plants and look them up as you walk along.

There are several footpaths and promenades in the village where you can take a leisurely stroll while breathing in the clean air and admiring the magnificent scenery. Why not spend some time in the warm sunshine and forget about the time without the need for family water?
3 Forest Roads
The forest area of Tsurui Village accounts for about 64% of the village's total area. In addition to its thriving forestry industry, the village also provides an environment where people can come into contact with the forests. Walking along forest roads is especially recommended.
