Let's experience "Dairy Farming", the key industry of Tsurui Village! Enjoy Working with Children on Day 3
This time, we were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Niioka, who live in Sapporo City. They are mother Yui, father Yukio, and their child Kanata (4 years old). Let's start the third day of the tour!

Departing from Hartung Tree to a dairy farm in the village
On the third day, we started the morning with a tour to experience "dairy farming," the core industry of Tsurui Village!
On this day, we woke up a bit early and left Hartung Tree before 7:00 a.m. to visit a dairy farm in the village.
Here, you will experience feeding a calf. Wearing plastic gloves and holding a bottle of milk close to the calf's mouth...
The cows drink the milk very strongly and the amount of milk decreases rapidly.
You can see how strong the cows suckle by sucking on your hand," said a ranch hand. I'd like you to try it if you like!
The father, wearing plastic gloves, let the cows suck his fingers, and we were able to feel the strength of their sucking and their soft tongues.
One of the main attractions of the tour is the opportunity to interact with the families who run the ranch. We recommend that you talk with them about life in Tsurui Village and various aspects of easy farming!
Let's make cheese with delicious milk from Tsurui Village!
Leaving the ranch, we will return to Hartung Tree. On the way back to Hartung Tree, you may be able to see red-crowned cranes! Watch out the window as you sway in the car.
After returning to Hartung Tree, you can try your hand at "string cheese making" using the delicious, freshly squeezed milk produced at the farm where you had your feeding experience!

Sachiko, the Hartung Tree's mother, will carefully teach you the process of making cheese and how to do it, so children and adults alike will have a lot of fun making cheese!
String cheese is made by stretching the cheese over and over again.
Can you break the cheese into pieces? Let's taste the freshly made cheese. Cheese made together with everyone is very special! We can't stop eating it.

You will return to Sapporo with many memories of Tsurui Village. On the way back, we recommend that you stop by a natural hot spring or buy some souvenirs.

Yui Niioka
I highly recommend Tsurui Village because the environment is exciting and helps children grow!
It was an opportunity for all of us as a family to feel and think about something different through interaction with the village people, nature, and animals.
What impressed me the most was that everyone in the village was happy to see my son grow up and involved with our family. As a nuclear family, we usually don't have many adults involved in raising our child together, so it was a very pleasant experience.
It was also nice to be able to do a little work in an environment surrounded by nature, or take a hot spring bath in between jobs, while switching off my mind. I still think "workcations with children" are a great way to make family memories!
Yukio Niioka
I visited the village not knowing anything about it, but it was a place where I felt safe and warm as if I had returned to my parents' home.
What really impressed me in Tsurui Village was that there were people doing what they wanted to do. I felt the luxury of doing what you want to do, not the luxury of having nice things. The scenery and the way they spend their time are things that I don't have in my own life, and it gave me an opportunity to reconsider my happiness.
I was also able to catch a glimpse of my son's growth while interacting with the villagers. It was also great to be able to do things like lie down in the meadow with my family and talk around the fire with the villagers. I feel like I will come back here again!

It was so much fun!
I could feed milk to the cows and catch fish by myself. The goats and dogs were so sweet to me that I felt like a family member.
I fell in love with Tsurui Village!
