羅臼町の観光シーズン到来を告げ、約半世紀の歴史を持つ羅臼町最大のお祭り。町民全体が参加し市街地を踊り歩く「千人踊り」や町内会対抗の「綱引き大会」がお祭りを盛り上げる。その他にも、イベントが用意されており間近で見る「知床大花火大会」は圧巻。
