The Sapporo Hokkaido Food Film Festival is organized by the Sapporo Hokkaido Food Film Festival Executive Committee, with the aim of realizing initiatives that are only possible in Sapporo, centered on Hokkaido's strengths in food and the power of film to communicate. The vision of the event is to "develop Hokkaido's food culture and nurture the bearers (producers, chefs, creators)" and "establish the attractiveness and brands of Hokkaido's food and gain unshakable competitiveness".

At the pre-event held in March, in addition to screenings of several food cinema films and talk events with guest speakers, "Cinema Dinner" was held with the cooperation of 20 restaurants in Sapporo City, where guests could taste menus related to the films they watched at restaurants, and "Sapporo Cinema Bar" where they could enjoy drinks and food at a discount price. A total of 1,000 people enjoyed the food and movie festival.

This November's festival will be much larger in scale, with carefully selected food films and a variety of culinary contents being presented at several movie theaters and facilities in Sapporo. The main venue, the Higashi 1-chome Theater facility, will host a spectacular opening and closing event with a star-studded guest list, and the "World Culinary Academy" will be held for the first time in Sapporo, where up-and-coming chefs will present their recipes and culinary theories in their own words with video clips, which are created in response to the climate, food culture, and ingredients. The event will be held for the first time in Sapporo. In addition, as a project to support the recovery from the Noto Peninsula earthquake of 2024, films shot in the Noto Peninsula will be screened.

The Hokkaido Food Film Festival will be held November 22-24 in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Details on the films to be screened, guest speakers, and ticket sales schedule for the various events will be posted on the official website and SNS as needed.
