15:30~ Floating Lanterns
Onuma has long been home to the floating of lanterns to commemorate those who have drowned. Many families request lanterns to commemorate those who have drowned, as well as their ancestors, deceased loved ones, and even pets. This is such a deeply rooted event in the local area that local children design each of the signs to be attached to the lanterns in their Onuma studies classes at school.
