Dougin Curling Stadium

Classes for beginners are also available at any time. The first public facility in Japan dedicated to curling

Opened in September 2012 adjacent to Tsukisamu Gymnasium, this is the first public facility in Japan dedicated to year-round curling. There are five curling sheets (competition lanes) kept at a room temperature of 5°C, and the facility is fully equipped to host international competitions. Classes are offered (for a fee) for all levels, from curling enthusiasts to beginners. A set of curling equipment (shoes, sliders, and brushes) can be rented for 100 yen, so even tourists should be able to give it a try. For details, see the website of the Sapporo Health Sports Foundation. Reservations required.
