Sapporo Science Center
The Sapporo Science Center is a science museum where visitors can learn while experiencing space and scientific principles.
The 'Snow and Ice Area' is unique to a science museum in Sapporo, a city known for its heavy snowfall and cold winters, which is rare worldwide. It features exhibits on the theme of snow and ice, familiar aspects of life in a northern country, and includes the 'Low Temperature Playground' where visitors can experience temperatures of -30°C.
Additionally, the planetarium, one of the largest in Hokkaido, has introduced a world-class projector that reproduces a beautiful starry sky with approximately 100 million shining stars. Here, you can enjoy live commentary on the starry sky by staff, along with various automated programs. Science shows are also held daily, making it a facility where both adults and children can have fun all day long.
