Annually approximately 1.2 million people stay, even within Hokkaido a popular hot spring resort. From Sapporo city center to the south by car less than 1 hour, and being able to go casually is one of its charms. The spring quality is sodium chloride spring, and from the body's core it becomes warm. The source springs are 56 locations, 60-80℃ hot water gushes out as much as 8,600ℓ every minute.

The opening of the hot spring is old, in 1866 (Keio 2) year, Shugendo monk Miizumi Jozan (Miizumi Jozan) built a hot spring cure resort, and it began. On the other hand Jozankei is also famous as a scenic spot. Shiraito Falls, Yu Falls, Maizuru no Toro, etc., in each season beautiful scenery can be encountered. From the bright red Futami Suspension Bridge spanning the Toyohira River flowing through the hot spring town, Futami Rock and Kappa Fuchi can be overlooked. Passage beyond the suspension bridge is, late May to end of October. Autumn, the valley dyed in brocade, is by all means a scenery I want to see once.
