Pioneer Memorial Tree
This yew tree is said to be associated with the arrival of an expedition led by Kuninao Date, lord of Iwadeyama, the founder of the Tobetsu settlement, to this area in 1871, who camped under the tree.
It is also a Hokkaido Commemorative Protected Tree and is estimated to be over 350 years old.
