Taiho Sumo Memorial Museum
Here lies the glory and trail of the immortal and famous yokozuna Taiho
Kawayu Onsen, Teshikaga-cho is the hometown where Taiho, the 48th Yokozuna and immortal sumo grand champion, spent his youth and nurtured his great dream.
The museum is filled with all of Taiho's winners' plaques and cosmetics, photos from his boyhood, and pictures of past yokozuna. In particular, the film of famous games and scenes from his career is worth a visit.
Why not take a trip back in time to a nostalgic and passionate era when "Giants, Taiho, and omelettes" were the buzzwords of the day?
The museum will be closed from April 25 (Sat) to May 6 (Wed), 2020.
