Piyasiri Marsh
Piyasiri Marsh (elevation 983m), the northernmost highland marsh in Japan, is located on a plateau about 6km north of Mt. The alpine flora, which consists of mousseline moss, cotton grass, and Japanese rhododendron, growing on the forest floor of red spruce, is like a carpet of beautiful flowers.
However, it is located deep in the Kitami Mountains, making it an unexplored region. Furthermore, it is a habitat for brown bears, so visitors should be careful when entering the mountain. Also, be careful of hornets in summer.
