In the park, you can enjoy forest bathing and bird watching in a mixture of broad-leaved and coniferous trees.
In winter, walking skiing and other activities can be enjoyed.
The park covers an area of 2,053 hectares and extends over three cities: Sapporo, Ebetsu, and Kitahiroshima.
It is one of Japan's most precious flatland forests in the suburbs of a large city, and has been carefully protected since ancient times, so that even today it retains the appearance of a primeval forest.
In addition to approximately 110 species of native trees, 60 species of trees planted as sample forests by the Forestry Experiment Station, 150 species of wild birds, and 1,300 species of insects have been confirmed.
