Abashiri Municipal Museum of Local History
Exhibits archaeological and ethnographic materials related to the Moyoro Shell Mound and Okhotsk culture.
The "Museum that tells about the local area" exhibits items excavated from the Moyoro Shell Mound, which has a unique cultural form, local materials from the Edo period and Bunka era when the fishing ground was established, and other natural features and industries in the Abashiri region. It is a "museum that tells the story of our hometown. In spring (mid-May), the nearby park is a popular spot for cherry blossom viewing.
