Abashiri City Folk Museum
Overview
This is a 'museum that tells the story of the local area,' exhibiting items excavated from the Moyoro Shell Mound, which has a unique cultural form, as well as local historical materials from after the establishment of fishing grounds during the Bunka era of the Edo period, and other exhibits on the nature and industry of the Abashiri region. In spring (mid-May), the nearby park also becomes a famous spot for cherry blossoms.
