Abashiri City Museum
Exhibition of archaeological and ethnographic materials related to the Moyoro Shell Mound and Okhotsk culture
This is a "museum that tells the story of the local area," exhibiting items excavated from the Moyoro shell mound, which has a unique cultural form, local materials from when the fishing grounds were established during the Bunka era of the Edo period, and other nature and industry of the Abashiri region. In spring (mid-May), the nearby park is also a famous cherry blossom viewing spot.
