SPOT
Shihoro Plateau Nupuka Village
Shihoro Plateau is a great spot to get a panoramic view of the Tokachi Plain. On a clear day, you can see the horizon stretching into the distance from an altitude of 600m.
A 20-minute drive from Shihoro city, a pleasant ride up a gentle slope brings Higashi-Nupukaushi-Nupuri in the Daisetsu mountain range closer and closer. You'll be captivated by its grandeur as you reach the summit, and when you turn around, you'll be taken aback by the panoramic view that unfolds before your eyes. It's a luxurious place where you can feel the clear air and wind with your whole body as you look out over the endless Tokachi Plain.
You can have the great outdoors all to yourself at the campsite, or stay in a cottage with a kitchen like you're at a vacation home. Lose track of time and enjoy the great outdoors. At night, the starry sky is fantastic and will surely be etched in your memory as a trip. At Yakiniku House, you can enjoy Genghis Khan and Shihoro beef (reservations required), and at Lodge Nupka, the cafe menu is extensive, so it's a spot you'll definitely want to stop by on your drive.
