Horopiri Lake

Upstream of the Horoshintachibetsu River side, at a place 138.75 meters above sea level, Lake Horopiri is an artificial lake with a circumference of 17 kilometers, an area of 2.77 square kilometers, and a water depth of 45.75 meters, which was formed by the river being dammed by the Numata Dam, completed in Heisei 4th year.

From the observation hut, beautiful scenery can be enjoyed in each of the four seasons.

In addition, the surroundings of Shirakizawa Dam and Ōeda-no-sawa Dam, located in the town's northeastern part, are also enveloped in rich greenery, and show us beautiful scenery such as spring cherry blossom viewing and autumn foliage.
