Horopiri Lake

Horopiri Lake, located 138.75 meters above sea level upstream from the Horoshintaibetsu side, is an artificial lake with a circumference of 17 kilometers, an area of 2.77 square kilometers, and a depth of 45.75 meters, created when the river was impounded by the Numata Dam completed in 1992.

From the observation hut, visitors can enjoy beautiful scenery in each of the four seasons.

In addition, the area around Shirakisawa Dam and Oedanosawa Dam in the northeastern part of the town is also surrounded by lush greenery, offering beautiful views of cherry blossoms in spring and autumn leaves in fall.
