Klaus No. 15 steam locomotive was manufactured at Klaus Locomotive Manufacturing Plant of Munich City, Germany, in 1889 (Meiji 22), and was imported to Kyushu Railway, and after that, passing through Japan National Railways, Tokyo Yokohama Electric Railway, in Showa 6, was active in coal transport etc. at Hokkaido Rumoi Railway (Numata Town), and furthermore, was active as active duty until December Showa 42 as for coal freight car transport on the freight dedicated line of Meiji Showa Mining Plant (Numata Town), and currently, among small steam locomotives existing in Japan, it is the oldest one.
