Horoshin Hot Spring Firefly Hall
In the Sorachi district, there are as many public hot springs as there are stars, but perhaps hot springs whose birth dates back to the beginning of the Showa era are few...
It was in the summer of Taisho 11 (1922) that Kenjo, the chief priest of Eitokuji Temple in Ebishima, Numata Town, received an Eleven-faced Kannon statue built in the early Edo period from his hometown, Toyama Prefecture, and he was holding Kannon-kō every year.
On August 17, Showa 3 (1928), on the way to the Kannon-kō to be held in Horoshin settlement, he found clear water gushing out, and since it was a hot day, he scooped it up and tried drinking it, and it is said that both his body and mind became refreshed. People who heard this story believed, "The fact that clear water was found on the day of Kannon-kō must be Kannon-sama's sacred water," and when they fell ill, they began to drink this "miracle water."
Since then, this sacred water myth spread, and in Showa 38 (1963), a water quality analysis test was conducted, and it was found that it was effective for neuralgia, rheumatism, diabetes, etc., and a limited company "Horoshin Onsen" was organized by volunteers, and the hot spring was born.
