Toyoni Lake

Overview

Surrounded by virgin forest, the lake is also nicknamed "Heart Lake" because it looks like a heart when viewed from above.
It is also known locally as "Horseshoe Lake" because of its resemblance to a horse's hoof.
With a circumference of 1 kilometer and a depth of 18 meters at its deepest point, it is a quiet lake in the middle of a forest.
Around the lake, the "Ezo night heron," said to be a survivor of the Ice Age, has been confirmed to inhabit the lake.

About the road conditions to Toyoniko
Currently, the forest road to Lake Toyoni is open to vehicles.
(*Since snow is not plowed during the winter, the road may be impassable depending on snow conditions.)

The road to Lake Toyoni is an unpaved gravel road.
Please note that the road to Lake Toyoni is an unpaved gravel road, which is difficult to pass for large buses and vehicles of low height due to sharp curves and road surface depressions.
