Torisaki Eight Scenic Spots
A healing spot where a mysterious mountain stream soothes the soul
The beautiful valley and mountain stream are enchanting. The valley upstream from the Torisaki River, which flows into Ekka Bay, is called "Torisaki Valley" for its beauty, and particularly scenic spots are named "Torisaki Valley Eight Scenic Views" and marked with information boards.
The valley is also known for its beautiful autumn foliage and for its mountain stream fishing. There is also a multipurpose plaza in the valley that is ideal for resting and camping.

Torisaki Gorge: The name "Torisaki" means "bird hell," because of the gas that billows out of the ground, suffocating wild birds.
Folding screen cliffs: Cliffs as high as 100 meters stretch for about 2 km, as if they were circled by folding screens.
Futamigataki Waterfall: A waterfall gently cascades down amidst deep forests.
Shishi-no-Kazama: Oddly shaped rocks stand upright on the riverbank like the head of a lion dance.
Nijikakegan: The name is derived from the rainbow that hangs over the rocks. (The area is closed to vehicular traffic due to the danger of falling rocks.)
Komagatake Dam: The surface of the lake, filled with water, is in beautiful harmony with the surrounding landscape.
Shin-Torisaki Ohashi Bridge: This bridge crosses the Komagatake Dam and offers a great view.
Kami-Otaki Waterfall: This brave waterfall was named Poroso (big waterfall) by the Ainu people.
