Torizaki Eight Views

A healing spot where the mystical mountain stream soothes the soul

Be enchanted by the beautiful valley and mountain stream. This valley, located upstream of the Torizaki River that flows into Funka Bay, is called "Torizaki Valley" because of its beauty, and the most scenic spots are named "Eight Views of Torizaki Valley" and have information boards installed.

It is known as a beautiful place for viewing autumn leaves and as a popular spot for mountain stream fishing. There is also a multi-purpose plaza within the valley that is perfect for resting and camping.

・Tori Jigoku: This name comes from the fact that gas spewed out from the ground and suffocated wild birds.
・Byobu Cliff: A 100m cliff stretches for about 2km, like a folding screen.
・Futamigataki Falls: A waterfall flows gently through a deep forest.
・Shishima: A strange rock formation stands upright on the riverbank in the shape of a lion dance head.
・Nijikakeiwa: This name comes from the rainbow that appears over the rocks. (Note: Vehicles are not permitted in the area due to the risk of falling rocks.)
・Komagatake Dam: The water-filled lake surface blends beautifully with the surrounding scenery.
・Shin-Torizaki Bridge: A bridge that crosses Komagatake Dam and offers a wonderful view.
・Kami-Otaki: This brave waterfall was named Poroso (big waterfall) by the Ainu people.
