It is the Third Uryu River Bridge, commonly known as the "Ponkotan Iron Bridge", one of the vestiges of the former JR Shinmei Line, which was left very close from the Roadside Station "Forest and Lake Village Horokanai".
It crosses the Uryu River flowing parallel with National Route 275, and even after the Shinmei Line became an abandoned line, it continued to be preserved by the hands of a preservation society, and in 2009 (Heisei 21 fiscal year), it has been selected as a "Japan Society of Civil Engineers Selected Civil Engineering Heritage".
