"Akan Lake's Marimo" is designated as a national Special Natural Monument, and currently, it is not possible to easily see them in their natural state.
At the "Marimo Exhibition and Observation Center" located on Churui Island floating in Lake Akan, it is possible to learn about Akan Lake's marimo's observation and ecology.
You can see the marimo's appearance from an underwater camera installed in the marimo's colony area, and you can carefully see actual marimo in a tank that imaged the lake bottom.
To Churui Island, you can go by utilizing a sightseeing boat or a motorboat.
