Hakuto-yama Observatory

Hakuto-yama is a 950-meter-high mountain located south of the Akanko Onsen Hot Spring Resort area. from mid-May to the end of October, you can climb the mountain from the Hakuto-yu Nature Trail in the middle of the Akanko-kohan ski resort. On the way up, you can see rare alpine plants and mud volcano bokke. The view of Lake Akan and Mt. Ouakan from the observatory at 815 meters above sea level is indescribable. Early in the morning during the summer season, there is a chance to see the sea of clouds. The round trip takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
