The flower garden Omusalo Wild Flower Garden stretches 1 km along the coastline northwest of the city center, across the Naginashiname River. It is a natural treasure trove of colorful flowers that add color to the Okhotsk summer. About 50 varieties of beautiful native flowers and grasses, including the crimson Hamanasu, fascinate the viewer. Perhaps you may even see white-flowered hamanas (hamanas with white petals). Nearby is Omusaro Ruins Park, a Hokkaido-designated historic site. In winter, you can view the drift ice.
