Yuhigaoka Observatory
Overview
A spectacular spot with a 360 degree view of both the ocean and the mountains! You can see Mt. Rishiri, Sagidomari city, Cape Peshi, Ponmosiri Island, and Rebun Island. From the parking lot to the observatory, you will have to climb a slightly steep slope. Along the way, you will see island flowers blooming at your feet in on-season and the soft golden color of silver grass in autumn. When you reach the top, what catches your eye is the spectacular view of the sheer cliffs and the open ocean! At dusk, the whole area is tinted orange with a spectacular sunset.
