SPOT
Hama-Koshimizu Maehama Campsite
Quiet campsite between the Sea of Okhotsk and the JR Kushiro Main Line
Maehama Campsite is located near the roadside station Hanayaka-Koshimizu, adjacent to the Fretoi Observatory with views of the Okhotsk Sea and the Shiretoko mountain range. It is in a perfect location with the Sea of Okhotsk right in front of it, and the restrooms and cooking facilities are clean and easy to use.
The JR Kushiro Main Line runs nearby, and the occasional sound of a passing train adds to the atmosphere. Although not as glamorous as an auto campground, there is a roadside station and convenience store nearby, so you can spend your time without any inconvenience.
Why not spend some time at this unusually located campground surrounded by the magnificent Sea of Okhotsk and the Kushiro Main Line?
