Katsuyama-kan Site Guidance Facility
The Katsuyama-kan Site Guidance Facility guides visitors through Katsuyama-kan with models and videos.
A 1:200 scale model of Katsuyama-kan is placed in the center of the facility, and visitors can compare it with the actual site through the front glass windows to get a more realistic view of the site.
In the video corner, a video explaining the medieval history of the north, "Katsuyama-kan and Its Period," is shown. The computer graphics reconstruction of Katsuyama-kan, based on the excavation results of Katsuyama-kan, is attracting much attention.
In addition, a total of seven graves of people from Katsuyama-kan, one cremation grave, one cremation site, and five burial sites, located in the basement of this building, have been molded exactly as they were excavated and recreated in their original positions.
At the same time, a special exhibit of artifacts from excavations over the past quarter century tells us about the origins of Katsuyama-kan, the lives of its people, and the rich medieval world of the north.
