SPOT
Tatejo Onsen Tate District Rest House
A town-run hot spring facility that has become a place of relaxation for local residents.
A one-story town-run day spa facility located just past the Tate district on Route 29 from National Route 227 heading toward Hakodate from downtown Atsusawabe-cho. A large signboard along the road is a good landmark. In the vicinity is Tate Castle Ruins Park, famous for its cherry blossoms, which attracts many visitors in the spring, and the countryside offers a relaxing scene.
The hot water is alkaline and feels mild and moist on the skin. The facility has a diamond-shaped indoor bath with abundant, muddy green water flowing from the source, as well as private, barrier-free bathrooms with handrails and other amenities.
As the name "Ikoi-no-ie" (House of relaxation) implies, it is a place of relaxation for local residents, who can often be seen chatting and laughing in the rest area.
Alkaline simple hot spring (alkaline hypotonic low-tension spring)
