Kitakata Primeval Flower Garden is a 75-hectare garden located on the Sea of Okhotsk side of the Nemuro Peninsula.
The "Kitakata Primeval Flower Garden" boasts about 100 kinds of flowers from early summer to autumn, including the orange Ezo kanzo, the yellow spruce, the orange iris, and others.
The variety of flowers and the length of the blooming period make this one of the best of all the wildflower gardens in Hokkaido.
Nearby are Quercus crispula trees that grow crookedly under the strong north winds, and the flowers and trees that delight the eye in this harsh natural setting provide a taste of "the furthest reaches of travel.
