A perfect town for children and working adults

"I want to raise my children in a free and easy environment!" "I want to continue doing my current job!" Many people in the child-rearing generation who are starting to think about building a house probably have the same thoughts. Nanporo Town is one of the towns where this wish can easily come true.

Minamihoro Town is adjacent to cities such as Ebetsu City, Iwamizawa City, and Kitahiroshima City. It is also located less than an hour by car from Sapporo City, so people who work in Sapporo City or Ebetsu City can continue their current jobs even if they move to Minamihoro Town. Currently, about half of the working residents of Minamihoro Town commute outside the town. Furthermore, with the spread of working from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Minamihoro Town is attracting attention as a place to relocate.

Furthermore, with agriculture being the main industry and the terrain having little elevation change, there is green as far as the eye can see in the summer and pure white scenery that stretches out as far as the eye can see in the winter. It is attractive to be able to raise children in an environment where you can enjoy magnificent views and wide skies without being obstructed by buildings or power lines.

The reasons why Minamihoro Town is chosen as a relocation destination are not just due to its geographical and environmental advantages. Let's take a look at Minamihoro Town's child-rearing support system!

A unique child-rearing support system unique to Nanporo Town, a town with a thriving agricultural industry!

Each city, town, and village has various child-rearing support systems in place, but Minamihoro Town also has several child-rearing support systems that are unique to this town. Here are some interesting systems!

●Childcare support rice! In Nanporo Town, where rice cultivation is thriving, there is a "Childcare Support Rice" system in place, with the aim of having children eat locally grown rice. Nanporo Town is unique in that it presents 10 kg of rice per person per year to children from birth to third grade of junior high school.

●Full subsidy for rice, noodles, and bread for school lunches! In order to let elementary and junior high school children and their parents know that rice and wheat are produced in Nanporo town and how delicious they are, the town covers the cost of the staple foods in school lunches. It's a wonderful system that allows children to eat delicious staple foods while also reducing the burden of school lunch costs.

A town where families can live comfortably! Let's grow together with the community

Nanporo Town has a population of 7,384 (as of March 2022). Being a small town, it's great to be able to have close relationships with the local people. The town has a wide variety of sports clubs, including soccer, baseball, basketball, badminton, and judo, and the instructors are town hall staff. In addition, an AI demand bus called "Airute" is in operation, making it possible for people who do not own cars or whose children attend extracurricular activities to get around town safely.

One of the good things about living in Minamihoro New Town Midorino is that there are many people of the same generation who have moved here, so you don't have to worry about finding it difficult to fit into the existing community. There are plenty of playgrounds in the area, including a large park that attracts many people from outside the town.

Kitajima, who is in charge of relocation at the town hall, says that when people come to consult about building a house or relocating, he makes sure to not only tell them about the "livability" of the area, but also about the disadvantages. "Compared to the city, there are many inconveniences, such as the lack of large commercial facilities and the fact that there is no JR station in the town, so it's better to have a car. But people who have come to live here and understand these things often say things like, 'Although there are some inconveniences, the ease of living here more than makes up for it!' It makes me very happy when they say that!" Why not visit Nanporo Town and experience the vast scenery and ease of living up close?
