Aiming to be a "Dining Spot for Everyone"

And so, "Tamura Shokudo" opened on June 19, 2022. Since its opening, the undisputed most popular dish has been the "Shogayaki Teishoku" (Ginger Pork Set Meal, 980 yen). This exquisite dish features tender, locally sourced Hokkaido pork coated in a sweet and savory sauce—a perfect match for a bowl of rice.

The generously cut slices of pork are neither too thick nor too thin, allowing you to fully enjoy the satisfying texture of the meat and the sweetness of the fat.

In addition to the dashi-infused miso soup, the set meal comes with a salad and other side dishes, ensuring a healthy serving of vegetables.

A single working man commented with delight, "Even the other dishes besides the ginger pork have a lot of vegetables. The meals are so well-balanced, which is a huge help for someone living alone."

Tamura Shokudo is run by a talented team of three. The head chef is Ms. Tamura's uncle, a 60-year veteran who used to run his own restaurant in the city.

Ms. Tamura herself handles plating, menu development, and PR, while another part-time staff member takes care of serving. Together, they run the diner with exceptional teamwork.

Interestingly, Tamura Shokudo is located in the Hakuchodai Shopping Center Hack, which is also home to three renowned local specialty shops known as the "3-High Group": "High-Meat Tanaka," "High-Vegetable Takata," and "High-Fish Minashin."

We heard that Tamura Shokudo has absolutely no food waste! One of the reasons for this is the presence of these very shops.

"If we run out of ingredients during business hours, we can just go buy what we need. And for fish, we can get whatever came in that morning. It's the perfect environment for a diner. The quality of the ingredients they carry is high, and being able to ask the shopkeepers for recommendations is a unique advantage of face-to-face service!"
