A 'Sad' Message from Otaru Aquarium in Sapporo Goes Viral—But Is Their Rivalry Real?
Actually Best Friends! The Two Aquariums Share a Deep Bond
While this ad might make them look like rivals, it has been announced that the exhibition and breeding operations at AOAO SAPPORO will be conducted jointly with Otaru Aquarium.
Furthermore, the Northern Rockhopper Penguins, a star attraction at AOAO SAPPORO, were actually on display at Otaru Aquarium for over a month before moving to their new home.
In other words, the opening of AOAO SAPPORO is a "new challenge" undertaken together with Otaru Aquarium. It shows a desire for a veteran aquarium and a new urban aquarium to join hands and energize all of Hokkaido's aquariums.
And yet, they put out an ad like this... So clever!
