Corocoro Coronya, a popular character from San-X, the company famous for Sumikko Gurashi, is collaborating with the special exhibition "The Jomon World and National Treasures of the North" at the Hokkaido Museum! Appointed as the "Honorary Curator-nya," Coronya is promoting the exhibition, and exclusive merchandise, only available at the venue's special shop, is also on sale.
This time, we'll introduce you to the shy yet dedicated Corocoro Coronya, working hard on promotional activities, and share a glimpse of its appearance at the exhibition's opening ceremony.
Appointed to San-X's PR Team! Who is Corocoro Coronya?
Corocoro Coronya is a character from San-X Co., Ltd., the creators of "Sumikko Gurashi" and "Rilakkuma." It's a cat that lives a leisurely life in a small bakery on a street corner. Due to its shyness, it's always hiding inside a failed cornet bread.
In July 2023, Corocoro Coronya was appointed to San-X's public relations team. Although there are times when it "can't get into the cornet," it's working hard every day, giving interviews and attending events.
Coronya Becomes the Museum's "Honorary Curator-nya"
The very same Corocoro Coronya has been appointed as the Hokkaido Museum's "Honorary Curator-nya." It's collaborating with the special exhibition "The Jomon World and National Treasures of the North," which introduces the "Jomon Prehistoric Sites in Hokkaido and Northern Tohoku," a UNESCO World Heritage Site, helping to liven up the event.

Furthermore, limited-edition merchandise that can only be found here is available at the venue's special shop! The lineup includes items unique to this Jomon world collaboration, such as a plushie of Coronya hiding in an earthenware pot instead of a cornet, and tote bags.
