We visited the Teine branch, which just opened in 2023, to uncover the secrets behind its deliciousness.

A Hidden Gem with Great Access?! Triton's Teine Branch
The restaurant has a total of 72 seats. Parking is free for 160 minutes for Triton customers.
Opened in April 2023, the Triton Teine branch is located within the Teine-Tekkita Shopping Center, a 9-minute walk from JR Teine Station. It's known among Triton fans as a hidden gem because the wait times are significantly shorter compared to other branches.
Expert Buyers' Discerning Eye is Key to Freshness! In-Store Preparation for Maximum Flavor
"Raw Salmon" for 350 yen. The fish is dispatched using the 'ikejime' method right after being caught, ensuring exceptional freshness.
Every morning, skilled buyers select the freshest ingredients at the market and deliver them to the restaurants. To preserve this freshness, the fish is prepared in-store, allowing it to be served in the best possible condition. They are particularly meticulous about shellfish, which lose freshness quickly, preparing them to order. Of course, they also offer a rich variety of ingredients sourced directly from producers.
The "Hokkaidō Three Kinds of Shellfish Platter" for 902 yen, featuring raw scallop, raw surf clam, and live whelk. The three-piece platter, now common everywhere, is said to have been pioneered by Triton.
The Allure of the "Bakudan Gunkan," Packed with Tuna and Salmon
The super-popular, limited-quantity "Kaisen Bakudan Gunkan" for 242 yen. Its vibrant appearance whets the appetite.
Triton offers a wide variety of creative menu items typical of conveyor belt sushi restaurants, such as the "Tako Salad" (octopus mixed with mayonnaise), and Western-style sushi like the "Salmon Avocado Roll" and "Nixon Roll." The especially popular "Kaisen Bakudan Gunkan" (Seafood Bomb Battleship Roll) is a gunkan-maki generously topped with a mix of various ingredients, primarily tuna and salmon. During our visit, it included engawa (fluke fin) and cucumber, creating an exquisite balance of texture and rich fish flavor.
"Maguro Tataki" (Minced Tuna) for 187 yen, popular with all ages. An overflowing portion.
Beyond the Huge Toppings: A Commitment to Quality Rice and Nori
The teacup, with a design unchanged since the restaurant's founding, is popular for its charming retro look.
While Triton is often talked about for the size of its toppings, their commitment to quality extends far beyond that. They use carefully selected domestic rice to create glossy shari (sushi rice), and the nori (seaweed) is sourced from specific regions, boasting a rich aroma of the sea. Focusing on the quality of each and every ingredient is a core principle that Triton holds dear.
A New Era of Conveyor Belt Sushi: Your Own Personal Lane, Not a Revolving One
The lively atmosphere of the restaurant is supported by the smiling staff.
The Teine branch we visited opened during the COVID-19 pandemic as a conveyor belt sushi restaurant without a revolving conveyor belt. Each table is equipped with a dedicated lane, and items ordered via a tablet are delivered instantly. This minimizes any loss of freshness, allowing you to enjoy the sushi at its most delicious state.
The sign on the exterior embodies Triton's business philosophy.
Despite being a long-established conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Hokkaido, Triton actively incorporates new technology. This attitude may be one of the reasons it enjoys such enthusiastic support from a wide range of generations.
